2005 CUEBiC Winner Wins 'Running the Gauntlet 2006'
MARGO Technologies has been declared a winner of Running the Gauntlet 2006, a prestigious competition held annually by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA). MARGO, a spin-out of the Coventry University Engineering Department, was formed shortly after its proposal won the CUE Business Creation Competition (CUEBiC) in 2005/06. CTO Han Lin, currently a PhD student in Engineering, acknowledges that "six months ago, [they] did not expect the business idea could evolve so quickly into something so real, but the training from CUEBiC really paid off". MARGO will now receive in-kind services and engage in discussions with CREATE and other investors to arrange a significant funding package.
CUEBiC is a competition for anyone who wishes, like the MARGO team, to create a business within a year. Entrants can gain valuable feedback on their idea, professional mentorship, introductions to potential investors, media exposure, and the chance to win at least £5,000. The CUEBiC submission deadline is 19 February 2007.
