Taira
There will be over 123 million broadband subscribers worldwide in 2005 - most will have dedicated land lines and enjoy a high degree of reliability. Taira VoIP is designed to extend customers' land lines to VoIP via their DSL service. This extension allows the benefits of VoIP (low cost calling and convenient roaming with a static number) without relinquishing the reliability of a land line.
TextGuard
Safe boxes, lockers, and most security tolls exist to protect our property, our investment, and our confidential information from competitors and rivals. At Textguard, we lower the need for all those measures by securing what is most valued on the most used information containment media - paper. Paper and its contents, as the largest source of information leakage in corporate firms have now been secured only to be read by those intended addresses and no others. The convenience and simple use of our product stimulates fast growth of our product in the market.
The Idea Team
The Crossover Project aims to focus public an private R&D spending on marketable technologies. Crossover will investigate, frame and market technology demand and help attract funding from appropriate sources. The Crossover Project will achieve this by breaking barriers of communication and trust between those seeking new technologies and those capable of offering solutions. Crossover will encourage exchange across regions, scientific disciplines and the public / private barrier.
The London Air Pollution Project
Independent research demonstrates that high levels of air pollutants in urban UK are detrimental to people's health, with a government estimate of health costs associated with polluion standing at 1.3 billion per year and rising. There exists an opportunity to develop an inexpensive, single use, disposable, personal health mask for those who need it most - the elderly, commuters, health conscious and cyclists. The LAPP intends to commercialise and market such a product and provide a public health benefit. The organisation is a not-for-profit supported by government (local and regional) and social-orientation institutions.
The Maths Republic
The Maths Republic aims to be a speciality software house. The first step is to create Mathematics Education software that will be attractive to school and pre-university children worldwide. The objective of the software is to be an effective tool in building their understanding of the mathematical sciences. Subsequently, we expect to move to software for Scientific and Technical Computing and products to cater for Popular Science.
TK
The aim is to fulfil the need for an online platform for Coventry University students to look for short term ad hoc projects offered by the university community that will give them opportunities to develop various skills needed. At the same time, we utilise this opportunity to seek advertisement fees from large corporations to build a sustainable business.
Traffic-LED
Traffic-LED will replace every light bulb in every traffic light in the country with Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), saving energy and reducing carbon emissions. The key to Traffic-LED's success is the high efficiency of LEDs: they are up to ten times more efficient than the most energy-efficient conventional lighting. Bulb replacement LED units are already available and can last over thirty times longer than a light bulb. But the cost is at least a hundred times too high. Traffic-LED will encourage a longer-term view by financing initial investment with reduced running costs: Traffic-LEDs will cost less than light bulb.

User A Solutions
Doppio is a new software product by User A Solutions that transforms a single personal computer (PC) into two independent computing terminals - effectively doubling the number of supported users. Each terminal behaves like its own PC; the fact that they are sharing computing resources of one machine is transparent to both users.

VirtualTourPro
We have developed an in-house hardware based panoramic creation technique. This, coupled with our extremely simple to use software, is to be marketed as VirtualTourPro. The system presents and extremely powerful tool for modern estate agents, enabling production of their own high quality full screen panoramas. VirtualTourPro has been designed to fill this thus far neglected segment of the booming virtual tour creation market. It is placed between the high cost subcontracted work carried out by professional photographers, and the low cost, but visibly lower quality, tours currently photographed by estate agents.
Wheelchair Drive
Development of a low-cost, detachable power unit to fit 70% of the UK's 400,000 manual wheelchairs - offering power, steering and regenerative braking for the wheelchair user or an attendant at a much lower price than a powerchair.
WiGuide
WiGuide will address the demand for flexible and customised city tours by delivering location-driven audio guides on a portable device running the unique WiGuide software.
You-Can
You-Can is a web-based portal to facilitate an efficient and effective donation process, which maximizes the benefits for both donors and recipients. It is an interface that permits interaction between donors allowing collaboration as a means to achieve a specific goal. These goals are monetary targets which, once achieved, fund specific social schemes run by small, local charities in developing countries. The web service allows for clear and immediate visualisation of progression towards pre-set goals so that users can gain an immediate view as to the effectiveness of their donation. You-Can therefore overcomes these charities' current inability to secure much needed funding from abroad whilst enhancing the 'donation-giving experience'.
